First Semester - Reflection of Learning - Health
In Mr. Richards Health Class we took an Edgenuity class in which we learned about health and wellness, fitness, healthy diets, drugs and alcohol, pregnancy, and STIs. Knowing what's good for our health is very important. Our health is the most important thing in everyone’s life. It greatly impacts the way we view life and how we enjoy it. Whether its impacted by our personal life choices or passed on by heredity, it is important to take care of our bodies and our mind and do anything to prevent possible diseases or disorders.
Edgenuity is a free online educational course which includes a variety of subjects to learn. The experience is much like using a textbook, except that instead of burdensome reading and writing, you listen to an instructor who explains the topic using a powerpoint. To succeed in this class, I ensured to take notes that would help me remember everything the instructor talked about. It was important to always stay on track with my lessons. Falling behind your work can significantly drop your grade and makes it very challenging to pick yourself back up.
Two SLOs I demonstrated in Mr. Richard's class are "self-directed learner who communicates effectively" and "mastering skills needed in career and college". I demonstrated the first SLO by staying on track with my Edgenuity assignments. I made sure to do my homework and turn in my notes on time. I demonstrated "mastering skills needed in career and college" by staying true to myself and not plagiarizing my work.
Overall, two of the most important things I have learned my first trimester are the importance of making good decisions regarding your health and taking good and detailed notes to remember everything I have learned in my Edgenuity lessons. Both of those skills are important for my future.
