During the Career Skills class, the learning objectives were to plan our future for the next 10 years using my10yearplan.com. This is valuable to my future because it gives me an idea of the steps I need to take to get my dream career and live my chosen lifestyle.
To successfully complete this project I first started by imagining where I wanna be in the next 10 years. I envisioned a small family and my own house. Next, I began filling out details about my lifestyle in my10yearplan.com. The final step was to find a career that could support my lifestyle and feel rewarding. I recorded all of this information in my slideshow and prepared to present it in front of my teachers and class. Throughout this process, I’ve learned that choosing a career comes with a lot of planning.
The two SLOs I demonstrated during this process are "mastering skills needed in career and college" and "applying technological skills for the 21st century". I showed that by researching my possible careers are acknowledging which major would best fit my chosen career. I also demonstrated that by recording all of my research into a powerpoint presentation. Overall, the most important thing I have learned in this class this year is being more aware of my future and the things I need to do in order to become successful. Throughout this semester I have done a lot of research on colleges, majors, and careers. This will be helpful to my future because it will help me decide my future earlier and help me make decisions that will impact it today.
