Second Semester - Angiosperms ROL
During the class of Biology, the learning objectives were to understand transpiration, photosynthesis, the difference between a monocot and dicot, and agricultural math. This is valuable to my future because it helps me understand the topics and prepares me for my chemistry class next year, and college. The project that I am submitting as an artifact is a monocot vs dicot diagram. These link back to the course learning objectives by explaining the difference between a monocot and I dicot, which was an important topic during the second semester of biology.
The assignment or project was about explaining the difference between a monocot and a dicot plant. It required me to look back on my past assignments connected to this topic and do research about angiosperms. To successfully complete this assignment, I took notes during my biology periods and used them to complete the chart. Than I further researched the topic to get a more detailed answer.
Throughout this process listed above I learned That monocots have one cotyledon when they sprout while dicots cave 2. This is where the names of those two types angiosperms originates from, mono meaning one and di meaning two. These link back to the course goals and project goals with the following evidence of understanding angiosperms. Remembering this from my biology class tells me that I’m an active listener and an organized learner.
Overall the the most important thing I have learned in this class this year is learning about different parts of plants and the way they function. I now know the difference between angiosperms, which I had no idea about before I took this class. These skills I have learned in this class will help me in the future classes connected to nature and biology.
